About Anisa

Anisa Liban currently serves as Vice President of the Westerville City Schools Board of Education. She was appointed in September 2024 and has since become a voice for equity, transparency, and putting students first. As a first-generation student and the first Somali woman to serve on an Ohio school board, Anisa is committed to meeting the needs of all students.

Anisa has built her career in nonprofit leadership and public affairs, focusing on advocacy for immigrant and underserved communities. Her work includes supporting grassroots coalitions, promoting access to equitable resources, and advancing policies that help communities thrive.

  • Anisa has met with lawmakers to advocate for Westerville City Schools.
